Today's So-Called "Oldies FM"

Okay ... if you regularly listen to selective, internet-based "oldies FM" stations, this isn't about you.
I hope ...

But the terrestrial FM'ers -- that's a different story!

I mean, we have so many "rock" stations bragging that they play the (and I quote) "hits from the '60's ... '70's ... and the 80's" ... then proceed to hit us with Madonna, Whitney Houston or Poison (the band)! Or they might ... just might ... throw in some Bee Gees or Olivia Newton-John to give themselves some validity.
But, as far as the Sixties are concerned: Well, there are just so many times you can hear "Honky-Tonk Woman" or "Hey, Jude" without wondering where the rest of "our" music went.

If these young studs who are manning the playlists for the new "Oldies FM" stations had even a little sense, they'd know that without Sixties music, they wouldn't even have their playlist -- because there wouldn't be rock music today!

Magazines like Tiger Beat™, Teen Set™ and others -- as well as Arbitron® ratings from the period -- show the immense popularity of the music THEN, and the rave reviews of acts like Phil "Fang" Volk, The Searchers and Peter Noone NOW show it's still in demand. Even the rock ratings today show it!

So, if you're an actual "classic rock" or "oldies" station, put more of "our" music on there! In fact, spotlight it! Because, without "our" music, you wouldn't be playing ANY of "your" oldies!
