Simon Sez, A "Holly" Day and more ...

One of rock's all-time favourite troubadours over the past fifty years has been Paul Simon. From his start with Tico and The Triumphs to Tom and Jerry (with his friend and future co-icon, Art Garfunkel) and, of course, his work as part of the greatest American folk duo in history, he's gained a worldwide following that's continued even through his solo years.
Now, if you remember, he was honoured two years ago with the prestigious Library of Congress Gershwin Prize. And, this past Saturday, he was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University! He was amongst 200 of the elite artists and activists elected (including scientists and institutional leaders!)
Since he's still performing and writing, there doesn't seem to be any stopping this impressive impresario -- even at the age of 69 (however, he'll be cracking the big 7-0 in just ten days, so mark yer calendar ...).

Oh ... and speaking of the Gershwin Prize: Tt was announced this past Thursday that songwriting legends Hal David and Burt Bacharach are getting the nod for 2012's award. There's been no date announced for the festivities, but it'll be this coming Spring. Along with Paul, the previous winners have been Sir Paul (McCartney, natch) and Stevie Wonder.

And if you're in Clear Lake, Iowa, near where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper died in the now-famous 1959 plane crash, you'll wanna visit Three Stars Plaza, a center that will be dedicated in their honor on 13 October. At that time, the city will also dedicate Ritchie Valens Drive and J.P. Richardson Avenue, which will connect with the existing Buddy Holly Place. In a stroke of planning and marketing genius, the city says these streets will actually triangulate the Surf Ballroom, where the young stars played their last concert (incidentally, Buddy Holly Place will rededicated with updated signs so it'll be easier to see).

IT'S IN THE GENES

One of the fastest-growing and lucrative job markets in the 21st Century is that of health care. And, among all the careers available within that general field, one that is constantly sought after is that of genetics. Pursuing a career as a geneticist introduces you to the science of heredity and variation of organisms.
Of course, finding a job in this field can be just as hard as with any other career choice -- unless you get the help of someone who can help you tie into Geneticist Jobs.
And, by clicking the link you just saw, you'll find a list of states and provinces that have openings in this field. If you're qualified for the job, you'll not only have your "foot in the door", but you'll save time and money by applying for it via the links on the site you'll find behind the link.
So why not enjoy a prestigious and needed occupation -- on that will provide many psychological rewards and dividends?
All it takes is to click that link you passed ... so do it now, okay?
