R&R HoF Does It AGAIN!!

I dunno .. does it make any sense to you??

The Rock-and-Roll Hall of Sham ... er, Fame ... has, in its lackofwisdom, decided to once again overlook legends like Paul Revere and the Raiders (who, IMandothersHO, actually brought back American-made rock whilst helping us, once again, learn how to smile) and Delaney and Bonnie Bramlett.
Instead, they're going with some super-enduring-and-heartwarming acts like "Eric B. & Rakim" and "Freddie King".
And the congregation shouts, WHO???  (no, I think they're already in the Hall of Fame [I mean, "The Who"]) ... and how did they get the nod for nomination?

Well, that's up to the members of the HoF nominating group.  In fact, according to the Hall's Wikipedia® entry:
"Currently, groups or individuals are qualified for induction 25 years after the release of their first record. Nominees should have demonstrable influence and significance within the history of rock and roll. Four categories are recognized: Performers, Non-Performers, Early Influences, and Sidemen (as of 2000). However, fans have no input concerning who is nominated or elected to the hall."

In other words, it doesn't matter who we'd like to see -- it's not our ball game!  Sure, it's tied into the Rock -and-Roll Museum, but it's apparently just a personal promo tool of Jann Wenner and his cronies.
There's one thing for sure:
WE know who should be in and who shouldn't ... and, if these yoyos won't listen to us, their noms aren't gonna amount to a hill of beans outside that famous structure in Cleveland, Ohio!

Maybe it's time we started our own ... one that actually represents the people's choices!
Who knows?  If that works, then maybe we could do the same thing with Congress, huh??

It's just my opinion ...
See ya on the ...

WAIT!!  One quick question:
Can anybody tell me the "demonstrable influence" that that "Rakim" fellow has had on our genre as a whole?
Just wonderin' ... anyway ...

See ya on the flip side ...
.
