We've seen a lot of John Lennon's belongings being put on the auction block over the past years ... but this one may just take the cake:A tooth once belonging to him is scheduled to be auctioned off in Stockport, England on 5 November. When it came out, it was first given to John's former housekeeper who was supposed to throw it out. But, after she asked, she was allowed to give it to her daughter as a souvenir. I hear it's expected to bring at least $15,800 at the auction.
Hey ... does anybody remember the themes to TV shows like Leave It To Beaver, M*A*S*H, The Fugitive, Run For Your Life or Richard Diamond, Private Detective?
Well, composer/arranger/producer Pete Rugolo (who wither composed or scored these theme songs and also co-produced Miles Davis' Birth Of The Cool) died Sunday in Sherman Oaks, California, aged 95. The jazz legend also served as music director for Capitol Records.
Incidentally, an update on the duo: Don (now 74) performs in Nashville with his new band, Dead Cowboys, whilst Phil (now aged 72) is in Columbia, Tennessee. He owns a songwriting, performing, and musical instrument accessories company called Everly Music, which is managed by his oldest son, Jason.
DON EVERLY WITH PAUL SIMON, MAY 2011 "BYE, BYE LOVE"
At a live concert earlier this year, Paul Simon introduced one-half of the most famous musical duo of all time, Don Everly. Though 74 now, Don still has that magnificent voice, as well as respect for both audience and musicians:
Okay ... that's it for now. But stay tuned ... more's coming up in about 24! Until then ...
See ya on the FLIP SIDE!
