Old Rockers Never Die ...

Whilst I've been busy with a few other projects (they're gonna work just fiine -- gettin' 'em up's the hard part Wait ... ummmm, that's a line that every man my age uses at one time or ... er, nevermind ...), thought I'd rewind and play this post. I'll 'splain more at the end of it, k?:

Got some RelicMail recently (UPDATE: this was also asked just yesterday, 25 Sept. 11, at a local grocer's!), claiming (are ya ready for this?) that ... I'm crazy! (gee ... FINALLY ... FAME!!)
Actually, I wonder how long it took 'em to figure that out??
They said an old geezer like me shouldn't be involved in this "rock-and-roll nonsense"!  I oughtta be "slowin' down a little".

Ummmm ... wehhhh, shun-neeee -- leh muh gidddofff m' rock-eee churr an' teh ye 'bouddit! (Gee ... I can do modified Gump!) Hurr ... han' me mah teef, willya??
Look ... when are these yo-yos gonna realize that rock-and-roll is all about ATTITUDE?!?? It's not whether you're 15 or 57 (waidda minnite, shunnnn-neee ... leh m' spit ...). It's a matter of (ummm [heh-heh!] sorry 'bout yer carpet, dere!) how ya feel inside.

Dudes, didja know the highest-bouncing, fullest and most-played basketballs are those with some age and experience to 'em?? Mmmm-hmmmm ... 'tis true! Now, about that dude in the upper left.
That's me, tryin' to look like I did back in the Sixties! Back then, I was still a little (WAIT!! Lemme look at that guy a little closer! Hmmmm ...) green under (?!?! are ... you ... kidding?!? To quote Peggy Lee, "Is THAT All There Is??" Sorry ... I've got the wrong pic up there!) the ... nevermind ... it's not actually me, but some guy obviously enjoying a deja view moment (check out the images in his glasses) ...

Anyway, we've all gotta have a sense of "vim, pep and vigour" (hmph ... us old fokes use them kinda words ...) hidden somewhere in our bones, and they're things that keeps us all a little lighter to lift, no matter what the age AND ROCKERS HAVE ALL THOSE IN SPADES!!!
Look at McCartney ... Jagger ... for that matter, look at Tony Bennett (don't tell me the man doesn't "rock"!  He's of a different style of music, but the cat definitely swings ... at 85!!), and there are many more like them!

So deal with it. Mel Brooks once said that, when ya talk about death, you see an inanimate corpse. It's not doing anything but laying there. So, if death deals with inanimation, whatcha got when ya talk about life?? ANIMATION!! MOVEMENT!!  SPUNK!!
Can you dig it??
Then, for Pete's sake, LIVE IT!!!

COMING UP THIS WEEK:   Rock news updates, introduction of a great new indie band out of the UK, answers to the name-game quiz and, by request, updates on the legendary Phil "Fang" Volk.  Much more packaged with those, so ...

See ya on the flip side ...
